Math made easy! We help adults, too.

“I came in to clear up some of my confusions on math. As a senior citizen who loves to study, I knew this area was popping up enough to give me quite a bit of trouble. So we took care of the questions and mysteries and it’s now a fun and interesting subject to me.”

“I liked the approach to the subject I needed help with. I learned the history, various origins, purposes and failures and stupidities of math! Greatly raised my confront, affinity and understanding of all types of math. It was great!” -S.S. (adult student)

Middle School Student Success!

“D. has an A – 100% – in math now! I was surprised that he did this on his own with the help of Ms. Sioux (CLC tutor). Ms. Sioux helped a lot and showed him how to do the math problems correctly. He is really enjoying the online distance tutoring, too. We want to continue tutoring even when we go on vacation to California!” -K.N. (parent of a Pro Tutoring student)

CLC’s Butterfly Garden Has New Life

The butterfly garden is exploding with life at Community Learning Center!  Below are just a few pictures we took of the little (and not so little) guys.

Here are some fun facts about butterflies:

  • Eastern monarchs overwinter in Central Mexico
  • Females lay between 300 and 500 eggs.
  • It takes about two weeks for a monarch to hatch from its cocoon to complete its transformation to a butterfly!
  • Monarch butterflies that hatch in the late summer or early fall head for warmer weather.  Ours head for Central Mexico!
  • Monarch butterflies will drink nectar from flowers, including milkweed.
  • Monarch caterpillars only eat milkweed.
  • The caterpillars eat for about 2 weeks before turning into a cocoon!
  • The generation of monarchs that migrate live for several months so that they can make the journey back.
  • There are four generations of monarchs born each year.
  • They live for about 6 to 8 months.

Grades improved and self-confidence went up – Success Story!

“I, D.R., the mother of T., am very pleased to write this success story. T. started math tutoring at Community Learning Center around the end of the fall quarter in 7th grade. She is very lucky to have Ms. Sioux as her math tutor. T. was getting average grades when she started. After she started her tutoring with Ms. Sioux, not only her grades improved but her self-confidence went up. She is now more and more interested in learning math and English. Now, she is in 8th grade and she is taking 9th grade Algebra and 9th grade English.”

“I am very happy and I highly recommend Community Learning Center tutoring. I am very thankful to the entire staff and heartily appreciate all the support and assistance from Ms. Sioux.” –D.R. (mother of 8th grade student)

G.E.D. Math Tutoring Success

“My name is A.R. and I am a 38-year-old male. I came to Sioux (CLC tutor) for help in math a few months ago because I was trying to obtain my G.E.D. I am so happy because I got my G.E.D. and I have to give a lot of the credit to Sioux for helping me and showing me the best way to solve and look at math problems. I would recommend anyone to her. Thank you Sioux.” -A.R. (G.E.D. student) *A.R. pictured with his math tutor Sioux
