CLC partnered with The Way to Happiness Center to help migrant workers from Plant City, FL. The migrant families work long hours out in the field picking the fruit and vegetables that many of us enjoy eating.
We worked with Pastor Brown of Feed Our Children Ministries, a non-profit organization that helps feed disadvantaged families. Pastor Brown is an all-around great guy. Every year he helps countless people in need with food donations and this year he asked for our help.
CLC students and families generously donated several boxes filled to the brim with non-perishable food items that Pastor Brown picked up on Friday. We couldn’t be more proud of our students for the help they gave for the Thanksgiving holiday!

When I finished my first math book yesterday on subtraction, addition and some multiplication, I felt very good about myself. I really like multiplication. It’s fun. I have improved my reading by two steps and I’ve improved my vocabulary. I enjoyed making the weather vanes and thermometers in class. I really enjoy recess because I really like to run around! I give my teacher (Ms. Karen) five stars – better than a five-star chef! And I give everyone who works here five stars, too.”

“I’m working on Unit 8 of my math – Measurements and Multiplication. I feel like I can finish it in a couple weeks and move on to Unit 9. Math is my favorite subject. I love having Ms. Erika as a teacher. She helps me with math and vocab and every single subject. She’s always polite. Anytime I do something for her, she thanks me. I love Ms. Rebecca, too. She helps me with my work and she’s very polite. I love going to Ms. Karey and Ms. Jen. I love going outside and playing soccer with my friends. I love helping people.
